Dual Orthopedic Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate medical records to pinpoint relevant diagnoses and procedures related to the patient's healthcare interaction.

• Extract the necessary information from the medical record in accordance with client guidelines and after a comprehensive review of the documentation.

• Request clarification from the physician on any unclear or contradictory documentation within the medical record, utilizing the guidelines established by the client.

• May serve as a mentor for training coders and/or new employees by offering education and training.

• Keeps up-to-date with the information included in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting.

• Exhibits strong and professional communication abilities.

• Enhances the company's reputation by demonstrating professionalism, adaptability, and mutual respect.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPC, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, or RHIA certification.

• A minimum of three years of robust experience in both Orthopedic Profee & Facility coding.

• Proven experience in coding Clinic E&M, Diagnosis, and CPTs.

• Experience in Profee and facility Neurology coding is essential.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology, and disease processes.

• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding principles and guidelines, reimbursement systems, and federal, state, and payer-specific documentation, coding, and billing regulations and policies.

• Must successfully complete a coding proficiency evaluation.
