• Evaluate and audit the performance of both new and current DRG Reviewers to ensure precision, compliance, and adherence to established coding and clinical validation standards.
• Offer constructive and detailed feedback to DRG Reviewers, emphasizing areas for growth while acknowledging exceptional performance.
• Partner with management to foster ongoing enhancements in audit accuracy, workflow efficiency, and reviewer effectiveness.
• Support the educator by leading supplementary training sessions for new hires on DRG methodologies, clinical validation, and proprietary tools.
• Deliver continuous training to current staff, concentrating on policy updates, skill enhancement, and performance improvement.
• Keep thorough documentation of audit results, feedback discussions, and training initiatives.
• Create reports on quality assurance outcomes and the success of training sessions for management review.
• Collaborate closely with team leaders and the educator to ensure that training and QA processes are in line with the company's standards and objectives.
• Act as a knowledgeable resource for DRG Reviewers and other staff, addressing queries and providing guidance on complex cases or procedures.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, health information management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant work experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator.
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician.
• CCDS - Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist.
• CDIP - Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner.
• CCS - Certified Coding Specialist.
• Over 2 years of experience in inpatient claims auditing, quality assurance, or clinical documentation integrity.
• More than 1 year of experience in a training or mentoring role.
