Distinguished Engineer – Agentic AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Quickly prototype and evaluate new technologies that facilitate hyper-personalized marketing and support assistive field sales systems.

• Collaborate with and influence our enterprise and card technology teams to assist Capital One in creating the leading agentic marketing and sales systems globally.

• Develop and promote technical charters that will enable the organization to adopt AI technologies more swiftly.

• Connect the existing systems with the future, ensuring that current systems remain robust and continue to meet business needs.

• Regularly eliminate obstacles for developers across the organization, exercising exceptional judgment to determine when to implement technical, process, or risk-acceptance solutions.

• Act as a recognized expert on non-functional system attributes, including performance, scalability, and operability.

• Continuously expand knowledge and integrate advanced technical insights into our community.

• Serve as a role model and mentor within the tech community, providing guidance to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of our engineering and product teams.

• Offer architectural direction and designs for large-scale, cross-domain initiatives.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and contribute to hands-on coding and reviews as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.

• At least 7 years of experience in enterprise architecture and design patterns.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with AWS.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convert "Agentic AI" concepts into business value.

• Over 10 years of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

• More than 10 years of experience coding in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript, Swift.

• Over 10 years of professional experience throughout the entire system development lifecycle, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
