This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Assess the eligibility of disability insurance claims by analyzing medical, occupational, and financial data.
• Determine any additional information required to evaluate claims effectively.
• Utilize policy language, analytical reasoning, and judgment to ascertain eligibility, calculate benefits, and conclude claim outcomes.
• Engage in communication with claimants, representatives, employers, field partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Articulate complex claim information in a clear, professional, and empathetic manner.
• Manage sensitive situations with discretion, patience, and respect.
• Ensure accurate claim documentation is maintained throughout the entire claim lifecycle.
• Record activities, decisions, calculations, and communications diligently.
• Compose correspondence related to claims, including requests, updates, and resolutions.
• Oversee a dynamic caseload across various stages of claims processing.
• Prioritize tasks while adhering to service standards and deadlines.
• Collaborate with medical, financial, legal, technical, leadership, and field resources.
• Navigate through ambiguous and complex scenarios effectively.
• Foster team success through collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Actively seek feedback and coaching while enhancing claim management skills.
• A bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
• Previous experience in disability insurance claims is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Ability to organize information, evaluate risks, and make informed decisions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• A strong customer service mindset with the capacity to manage sensitive discussions with professionalism and empathy.
• Capability to handle confidential information with care.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, allowing for the management of multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
