This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and direct all components of the organization’s tax operations, encompassing compliance for both income and non-income taxes, as well as planning, forecasting, tax provision, and strategy development.
• Coordinate, review, and finalize federal and state income tax filings along with necessary analyses and support, which includes requirements for international subsidiaries, partnerships (IRS Form 1065), Schedule K-1s, and other mandatory submissions.
• Accountable for managing income tax accounting in the U.S. and international subsidiaries; supervises the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions and evaluates individual company tax provisions crafted by internal and external tax staff; conducts top-level consolidation and review; formulates footnote disclosures for annual financial statements and stand-alone annual statutory reports; ensures robust internal controls are established over income tax accounting.
• Oversee the preparation and evaluation of tax provisions, disclosures, and pertinent tax footnotes for quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Efficiently manage sales & use tax and property tax functions.
• Prepare forecasts for cash tax payments on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis; analyze and clarify actual variances against forecasts.
• Supervise the activities of external outsourced tax advisors and service providers globally, including reviewing and approving all deliverables, timelines, budgets, and service quality.
• Evaluate and approve the work products from external service providers to ensure they align with internal expectations, tax positions, and regulatory guidelines.
• Offer subject matter expertise on global withholding tax issues, including assessing customer and vendor obligations along with the application of tax treaties across different jurisdictions.
• Counsel executive leadership on tax ramifications of strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A), organizational restructurings, and international growth.
• Collaborate with external advisors on intricate tax structuring for M&A activities and the creation of new investment vehicles and entities, which may include limited partnerships, LLCs, and joint ventures.
• Monitor and evaluate the effects of tax legislation and regulatory changes to guarantee the company’s compliance and strategic positioning.
• Work cross-functionally with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Operations to provide insights regarding tax and accounting issues, ensuring appropriate entity structuring, intercompany transactions, and related planning strategies that support cash management goals.
• Manage transfer pricing policies and management fee arrangements.
• Act as the company’s representative in all audit matters related to both direct and indirect taxes, maintaining communication with federal and local tax authorities; serve as the primary contact for all enterprise annual audit tax requests and inquiries.
• Supervise tax technology systems to ensure precise tax data management.
• Uphold adequate internal controls related to tax compliance and associated reporting.
• Mentor and manage internal tax team members, promoting their growth and development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a Master’s degree in Taxation is mandatory.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience combining public accounting and industry roles, with at least 10 years in tax, including experience in international tax; familiarity with partnership taxation is preferred.
• Profound knowledge and experience with U.S. federal, state, and international tax regulations along with technical tax reporting for financial statements (ASC 740).
• Experience managing outsourced tax providers, including Big Four or other tax advisory firms.
• Proficiency in cash tax forecasting.
• Proven ability to lead and cultivate a high-performing team and overall tax function.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to provide strategic direction and effectively collaborate with company leadership and associates at all organizational levels; capability to simplify complex tax concepts for non-tax professionals.
• Strong leadership, project management, analytical, and organizational capabilities.
• Capacity to handle multiple and competing deliverables/activities simultaneously to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Documented success in driving automation and process enhancements within tax functions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, tax engines, and electronic tax reporting.
