This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the strategy and implementation of Instructure's growth, development, and retention strategies for its workforce.
• Create and advocate for principles of organizational design, frameworks for spans and layers, and philosophies focused on team effectiveness.
• Collaborate with leaders on workforce and succession planning, 9-box calibration, and talent reviews to ensure optimal role alignment.
• Direct talent insights and analytics that guide strategic decisions regarding organizational structure and capability deficiencies.
• Establish frameworks for talent and organizational effectiveness that equip our workforce to develop new skills and evolve alongside Instructure’s AI-driven products and methodologies.
• Work with business leaders to evaluate current capabilities, pinpoint future skill requirements, and develop roadmaps for upskilling our workforce.
• Stay informed about industry trends in AI talent strategies and workforce design, bringing insights on how leading tech firms empower their employees to excel with AI.
• Oversee the design and implementation of our THRIVE performance development framework, which includes year-end reviews, goal-setting, and quarterly check-ins.
• Promote the adoption and ongoing enhancement of performance practices that foster accountability, growth, and transparency across the organization.
• Collaborate with HRBPs to ensure that performance management is integrated into the business and not treated as a once-a-year HR task.
• Manage the comprehensive engagement and employee listening strategy, encompassing survey design, execution, analysis, and action planning.
• Convert engagement data into actionable insights for leaders, enabling managers to take ownership of engagement within their teams.
• Develop mechanisms for pulse and lifecycle listening to provide real-time feedback on the employee experience.
• Lead Instructure’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIB) strategy and collaborate with ERG leaders to create impactful programming and a sense of community.
• Integrate inclusive practices into talent processes—such as hiring, development, promotions, and succession—ensuring DIB is woven into the fabric of our operations.
• Monitor and report on DIB metrics, advising leadership on areas of progress and those requiring additional focus.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, I-O Psychology, Business Administration, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive HR experience with a focus on talent management or organizational development, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in designing and scaling performance frameworks, engagement strategies, and organizational effectiveness initiatives within a global technology setting.
• A successful history of collaboration with senior leaders on enterprise talent strategy, workforce and succession planning, and 9-box calibration.
• Experience in leading Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategies, embedding inclusive practices into essential talent processes.
• Proficient in HRIS platforms (preferably Workday), engagement survey tools, and advanced data analysis.
• Strong understanding of organizational design principles, spans and layers modeling, and workforce planning methodologies.
• Familiarity with emerging trends in AI-enabled talent and workforce design.
• Ability to set strategy while also executing—capable of crafting a vision and actively delivering on it.
• Exceptional communication and influencing abilities across all organizational levels; possesses a global perspective with cultural awareness.
