📋 Description

• The Director of Success & Career Program Operations acts as a vital link between national program expectations and high-quality regional execution.

• This position guarantees that regions are equipped with the practical resources necessary to implement effective Success and Career programming, translating the model into clear routines, milestones, and tools for daily operations.

• The Director assesses key dashboards and early-warning indicators to identify potential implementation or outcome risks, mobilizes targeted support, and collaborates with regional and national leaders for timely problem-solving and adjustments.

• Take ownership of the national Success & Career operating system (goals, milestones, cadence) to ensure cohesive delivery across regions.

• Monitor leading indicators and outcomes; identify risks related to fidelity, capacity, and engagement; involve leaders and facilitate timely adjustments.

• Conduct milestone reviews (before and after actions) to document lessons learned and enhance practices.

• Operationally manage the Early Warning System (EWS) implementation; ensure regional and scaled teams respond to signals and track follow-through.

• Implement the employability curriculum and interventions aligned with Bottom Line’s Employability milestones.

• Supervise a scalable volunteer mentoring approach that offers a robust experience for both students and mentors.

• Organize and enhance career events, workshops, and gatherings using clear success metrics (scale effective initiatives; discontinue ineffective ones).

• Leverage EWS and Employability data to equitably target support and improve outcomes.

• Facilitate strong implementation of Success and Career programming across regions (ensuring readiness, guidance, and process improvement for new and existing sites).

• Lead communities of practice for Success Program Directors, Success Coaches, and Career Connections staff to foster consistency through shared expectations and learning cycles.

• Establish and facilitate the operating cadence (calls, checkpoints, deadlines) so that priorities and changes are clear and actionable.

• Deliver onboarding, training, and coaching in collaboration with Training & Learning; identify gaps and partner with Program Strategy & Fidelity to alleviate regional burdens.

• Collaborate with Program Strategy & Fidelity to ensure alignment with the Bottom Line Way and fidelity guardrails; provide insights on implementation to inform model evolution.

• Partner with Access Program Operations for the pre-matriculation handoff, and work closely with the Director of Scaled Advising.

• Act as the program owner for Success and Career data tools (e.g., Advisor Dashboards, Employability reporting, First Destination data flows).

• Oversee grant-funded program projects: manage scopes, timelines, and deliverables; track performance against grant metrics; and supply program narratives and data for funder reports.

• Maintain clear timelines, processes, and protocols for key milestones; ensure documentation and knowledge bases are current and accessible.

• Utilize regional feedback and outcome data to drive operational enhancements with Program Strategy & Fidelity.

• Supervise up to two direct reports as needed based on grant funding: establish goals, provide feedback, support, and coach through challenges.

• Cultivate a high-performing team culture that encourages learning, collaboration, and growth.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

• 6-8 years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit, government, or philanthropy; experience working with first-generation and low-income students is highly preferred.

• Proven experience in leading multi-site program operations with accountability for fidelity and student outcomes.

• Expertise in college success/persistence and/or career readiness for first-generation and low-income students.

• Experience in convening and leading communities of practice; strong facilitation and peer-leader development skills.

• Strong program planning and implementation abilities; capable of mapping processes and anticipating downstream impacts.

• Data fluency with Salesforce, Power BI, or similar tools for managing and analyzing results.

• Change management mindset; adept at leading through program evolution and integration.

• High emotional intelligence and excellent cross-functional partnership skills.

• Work authorization is required.

• Demonstrated commitment to Bottom Line’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

• Preferred: Experience in leading Career Readiness/Employability programming at scale.

• Program/service leadership experience in a national, multi-site organization.

• Experience managing other managers.

• Familiarity with agile/product ownership; Professional Scrum Product Owner certification is a plus.

• Experience in research/evaluation or RCT-readiness contexts.

• Lived experience or deep professional connections in first-generation and low-income communities.
