Director, Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +30 more states.

📋 Description

• In the role of Director, Strategic Finance, you will establish and direct Slingshot’s financial planning and analysis operations for the Engineering organization.

• You will convert intricate financial data into practical insights, influence key business decisions, and assist in developing the financial framework required to support rapid expansion and capital strategy.

• This position operates at the crossroads of strategy, operations, and finance—driving long-term planning, enhancing resource allocation, and facilitating fundraising and investor relations.

• Provide clear, data-driven insights through executive dashboards, key performance indicators, and performance analytics.

• Create materials for the Board of Directors and investors, including variance analysis and future projections.

• Serve as a reliable advisor to leaders within Engineering.

• Develop and sustain complex financial models to aid in scenario planning, mergers and acquisitions, and fundraising activities.

• Oversee and refine FP&A tools and systems (e.g., NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Adaptive Planning).

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of advancing experience in Finance, FP&A, or Strategic Finance positions.

• Proven track record in high-growth B2B SaaS, aerospace, or defense sectors.

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.

• Experience in managing budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning initiatives.

• Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV) and/or principles of government contracting (FAR, CAS).

• Practical experience with NetSuite and FP&A planning software.

• Established ability to convey complex financial concepts to executive stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
