This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and collaborate on Goodwill Industries International’s (GII’s) consultation regarding national Skilled Trades initiatives.
• This encompasses the execution and implementation of workforce development training models, grant programs, mission-driven social enterprise business frameworks, capacity building efforts, program development, project management, and technical support for the Goodwill network.
• Accountable for fostering funding development for the Goodwill Clean Tech Accelerator and managing grant implementation, performance, and budget oversight in accordance with Goodwill values and the Opportunity Accelerator™ delivery system.
• Direct growth initiatives and coordinate projects, partnerships, and responsibilities alongside the Strategic Workforce Initiatives team and the Development team.
• Collaborate on the selection of subgrantees through the GII Request for Proposal competition process.
• Spearhead program implementation via on-site consultation, remote consultation, web-based training, and other suitable methods.
• This role necessitates regular travel to program sites across the US and Canada.
• Organize and lead consistent meetings with the GII team and subgrantees to monitor and report on grant programmatic and fiscal progress, facilitating timely adjustments.
• Formulate and manage budgets and spending plans to guarantee funds are utilized in compliance with funder requirements.
• Utilize comprehensive knowledge of all pertinent laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines to assist national subgrantees with grant implementation.
• Supervise data collection and reporting activities, preparing progress reports with analyses for GII senior leadership, subgrantees, and philanthropic, corporate, and government funding partners.
• Leverage external technical assistance from partners as necessary to ensure project success.
• Ensure the effective completion of project deliverables and adherence to quality standards for strategic workforce initiatives through consultations, action plans, or program improvement plans.
• Lead the identification and documentation of effective practices to promote replication, scaling, and continuous program enhancement.
• Collaborate in the creation and delivery of informational, promotional, and instructional presentations for learning events and national conferences to strengthen partner and funder relationships, enhance program adoption, amplify impact, and promote peer learning.
• Serve as a primary liaison between GII and other national grantees or partners while supporting the development and expansion of funding and industry relationships under the guidance of the Strategic Workforce Initiatives Lead.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience in workforce development leadership roles, demonstrating progressive responsibility for driving growth and showcasing strong organizational and communication skills in a team environment.
• At least a bachelor’s or associate degree in business management, social or human services, public administration, or education; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Desired qualifications include specific training in project management, grant management, or consultation.
• Ten or more years’ experience in project and grant management is required.
• Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects across various locations.
• Experience in managing web-based platforms and producing communication materials.
• Familiarity with data management systems and budget oversight.
• Experience in creating, implementing, and scaling workforce development programs aimed at individuals who are unemployed or underemployed, particularly those from low-income backgrounds, justice-impacted individuals, and young adults disconnected from education and employment.
• Preferred experience includes involvement in workforce development programs, postsecondary training, philanthropic funding, or other relevant expertise in the skilled trades sector, especially in construction, energy, or manufacturing.
