This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of medium-to-large regulatory and compliance change tickets from initiation to completion, encompassing intake, scope clarification, assignment coordination, status tracking, and documentation of closure.
• Act as a senior business analyst for regulatory changes by converting Legal and business requirements into clear business, technology, and procedural specifications that cross-functional stakeholders can comprehend and implement.
• Collaborate with Legal after conducting regulatory impact assessments to identify necessary updates to systems, processes, controls, and policies or procedures.
• Create comprehensive requirements for system-related modifications, including configuration updates, decision-making changes, workflow alterations, new fields, and associated technology improvements.
• Work alongside Technology teams, business partners, and external vendors to accurately and efficiently implement approved compliance-related system modifications.
• Design and document feasible non-technology solutions when a regulatory or compliance issue necessitates updates to processes, enhancements to controls, or new or revised policies and procedures instead of system changes.
• Lead the compliance workstream for cross-functional projects by coordinating and overseeing implementation deliverables, timelines, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder responsibilities.
• Conduct research and perform analysis on regulatory requirements, existing controls, operational processes, and current workflows to facilitate effective solution development.
• Organize, coordinate, and assist in validation and testing activities for compliance-related changes, including system testing, process walkthroughs, and control verification.
• Evaluate testing outcomes, investigate discrepancies, and initiate follow-up actions to ensure that implemented changes effectively address the underlying compliance issues or regulatory requirements.
• Prepare concise project summaries, status updates, and dashboards for leadership and governance meetings, emphasizing implementation metrics, key risks, necessary decisions, and overall program trends.
• Maintain thorough and defensible documentation of decisions, requirements, testing evidence, approvals, and implementation results to support audit, examination, and internal review requirements.
• Identify recurring issues or workflow deficiencies and propose enhancements to processes, systems, or documentation that bolster operational efficiency and compliance controls.
• Facilitate implementation meetings and communicate clearly and consistently with Legal, Operations, Technology, Risk, leadership, and other stakeholders to ensure initiatives progress and issues remain visible.
• Provide informal guidance to analysts and coordinators on ticket structure, requirements development, risk considerations, testing expectations, and documentation standards.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the Regulatory and Compliance Change Management program.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or a comparable combination of education and experience.
• Experience in compliance management, regulatory change, or business analysis related to compliance and technology change, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
• Background in mortgage operations, ideally front-end mortgage operations, with a practical grasp of how regulatory requirements influence real-world workflows.
• Familiarity with Encompass Loan Origination Software or similar loan origination systems is preferred.
• Experience in developing, coordinating, or evaluating validation and testing activities associated with compliance, process, or technology changes.
• Proficient in translating regulatory guidance, investor requirements, or internal policy expectations into system behavior, business specifications, process updates, and documentation modifications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, including navigating ambiguous circumstances and identifying appropriate questions, stakeholders, risks, and next steps when information is lacking.
• Capable of working independently, managing ambiguity, and formulating practical, defensible recommendations without requiring detailed direction.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify gaps in requirements, testing, controls, policies and procedures, or supporting documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain complex compliance issues in accessible business terms to diverse audiences.
• Advanced organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, effectively managing multiple tickets or workstreams concurrently.
• Proficient in documenting work thoroughly so that the rationale, implementation steps, and evidence supporting a change are clear to auditors, examiners, and internal reviewers.
