This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as CSL’s primary leader in key innovation hubs to boost the CSL external brand, thereby increasing business development deal flow to expand our pipeline.
• Integrate ecosystem engagement, strategic scouting, and leadership of deal teams to ensure CSL upholds a robust presence and pipeline of opportunities within biotech, academia, and investment networks.
• Collaborate with global R&D, business development, and legal teams to enhance the organization’s innovation pipeline and competitive edge.
• Cultivate and broaden strategic relationships with universities, incubators, accelerators, venture capital firms, and local organizations to promote CSL’s external innovation objectives.
• Function as a senior member of deal teams in all regions, assisting in transactions from identification through due diligence and helping to guide relationships with external partners until deal closure.
• Over 12 years of experience in biopharma, external innovation, or business development with a strong regional network and ecosystem expertise.
• An advanced degree is mandatory (PhD, MD, or equivalent).
• Demonstrated success in enhancing the presence/reputation of Pharma senior leadership as a preferred partner within biotech ecosystems to drive business development deal flow.
• Proven capability to source and assess external opportunities and manage deal execution.
• Exceptional relationship-building abilities with academic, biotech, and investment communities.
