This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Supervise the Project Finance team, which includes managing portfolio assignments, overseeing direct reports, and facilitating the onboarding process for new hires as needed.
• Manage the financial performance of a portfolio of clinical trial projects, encompassing revenue, costs, margins, and cash flow.
• Ensure the accurate recognition of revenue in accordance with general accounting principles and company policies.
• Track project budgets, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with project teams to implement necessary corrective measures.
• Lead the monthly project forecasting activities, including projections for revenue, backlog, and margins.
• Serve as a strategic finance partner to the leadership of Project Management and Clinical Operations.
• Evaluate project budgets to guarantee alignment with contractual obligations and operational assumptions.
• Create and present regular reports on project financial performance, key performance indicators (KPIs), and risk factors.
• Directly oversee and mentor a team of 5 professionals specializing in Project Finance and Commercial Contracts located in North America and Europe.
• A Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, finance, accounting, or a related field (Master’s degree is preferred).
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in business management, with a significant emphasis on project finance or operational finance.
• Required experience in Contract Research Organizations (CRO), pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare services.
• Proven experience in collaborating with project management or delivery teams.
• Previous experience managing direct reports and developing teams is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of project-based revenue recognition and forecasting processes.
• Proficient in advanced Excel and project budgeting techniques.
• Familiarity with cost-to-cost project accounting is advantageous.
• Experience in establishing new systems or platforms related to project financial management is a plus.
