This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Take responsibility for the complete month-end closing process for all entities, ensuring that the cycle is finalized within 10 working days each month.
• Evaluate and authorize journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments prior to submission, establishing a personal quality assurance process to guarantee zero material errors.
• Manage the general ledger for multiple entities in Xero, ensuring precision, consistency, and appropriate allocation.
• Supervise intercompany accounting, ensuring that intercompany balances are reconciled across entities each period.
• Oversee accounts payable, including vendor invoice processing, payment runs, and supplier reconciliations.
• Manage accounts receivable, ensuring accurate recording of AR, monitoring aged debtors, and timely follow-up on collections.
• Administer bank reconciliations for all entity bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Ensure that cash disbursements are properly authorized and recorded.
• Manage tax filing responsibilities for relevant entities, encompassing GST/VAT, corporate tax, and withholding tax as applicable.
• Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
• Ensure adherence to local accounting standards and regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions.
• Design, implement, and maintain financial controls to protect company assets and ensure data integrity.
• Proactively identify and highlight control gaps or process risks, recommending and executing improvements.
• Support Finance Transformation efforts with process documentation, SOP development, and system enhancements.
• Directly manage and mentor three Finance Accountants responsible for UK, MY, PH, ANZ, UAE, SG, and US entities.
• Establish clear task assignments, priorities, and expectations among the team, especially during closing periods.
• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the FC&O team.
• Act as the primary point of contact and source of guidance for the team, addressing queries directly and escalating to the VP Finance only when absolutely necessary.
• Assist in onboarding new team members as the organization expands.
• Deliver clean, accurate financial data to the FP&A team to facilitate monthly reporting and forecasting.
• Coordinate the transition of processes to Revenue Management and Finance Transformation as the organizational structure evolves.
• Engage with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies as needed.
• Support due diligence and financial integration efforts related to acquisitions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance operations or accounting, including at least 2-3 years in a team management capacity.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-entity accounting across various jurisdictions.
• Practical experience with Xero, including multi-currency, multi-entity configurations, and reconciliation workflows.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS/MFRS), financial controls, and compliance requirements.
• Proven track record in owning and enhancing month-end close processes with a focus on precision and timeliness.
• Experience collaborating with external auditors and managing statutory reporting obligations.
• Preferred: Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company environment.
• Exposure to post-acquisition financial integration.
• Familiarity with payroll accounting in Southeast Asian and ANZ jurisdictions.
