Director of Technology, Technology-Driven Freight Forwarder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Define and implement the technology roadmap for the company.

• Identify and execute opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and data-informed decision-making across operational workflows.

• Take ownership of and enhance system architecture to promote operational efficiency and scalability.

• Design and oversee integrations among systems that facilitate logistics operations, finance, and customer workflows.

• Spearhead digital transformation initiatives throughout the organization.

• Manage end-to-end change processes for system implementations and enhancements.

• Develop and implement strategies to ensure strong user adoption among operational teams.

• Ensure that systems are dependable, secure, and capable of supporting business growth.

• Lead and mentor a small in-house technology team.

• Collaborate across functions with operations, finance, and leadership.

• Occasionally interact with clients regarding technical capabilities and system-driven enhancements.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7-12+ years of experience in technology leadership, digital transformation, or business systems in operational settings.

• Extensive experience with enterprise SaaS ecosystems, systems architecture, and integrations.

• Familiarity with Salesforce, focusing primarily on integration and systems rather than pure administration or development.

• Experience leading technology transformation or digital transformation in lean environments.

• Proven success in driving change management and user adoption across teams.

• Experience in designing and managing integrations across various systems.

• Background in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain environments.

• Exposure to international freight operations, including ocean, air, and multi-leg shipments.

• Experience in designing, building, or enhancing systems within logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.

• Strong capability to translate business needs into scalable system solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a lean, hands-on environment.
