Director of SEO, AI Search

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• You will lead the SEO department at a rapidly growing agency that collaborates with some of the most ambitious D2C brands in the e-commerce sector.

• Your primary responsibility is to enhance the department's performance, scale operations, and maintain a competitive edge.

• This includes guiding a skilled team of SEO managers and driving retention and results across a varied client portfolio.

• Additionally, you will be a builder, developing new processes, capabilities, and revenue opportunities.

• Your role involves recruiting exceptional talent, providing effective coaching, and fostering a culture of high standards and psychological safety.

• You will serve as the senior voice in strategy discussions, identifying accounts that are at risk of churn and preparing proactive strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

• Previous agency experience is mandatory.

• Demonstrated success in managing managers and leading high-performing teams, including offshore staff.

• Extensive expertise in technical SEO, content, and off-site strategies.

• Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L ownership.

• A genuine passion for the role of AI in search and the future of discovery.

• A strong executive presence, comfortable in pitch meetings, client interactions, and speaking at conferences.
