This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide expertise to aid in the development of workflows for proteomics sample preparation.
• Formulate and implement long-term research strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
• Oversee the design, planning, and execution of intricate proteomics research projects from inception to implementation.
• Identify emerging trends, technologies, and prospects to guide future research initiatives.
• Create robust research methodologies, analyze data, and uphold high standards of scientific and technical integrity.
• Collaborate with product teams, engineering, business units, academic institutions, and external partners to transform research into products, services, or processes.
• Act as a recognized subject matter expert on behalf of the organization in interactions with customers, partners, and industry forums.
• Assess research outcomes and relay insights and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ensure that research activities adhere to ethical, regulatory, and organizational standards.
• Mentor researchers and spearhead multidisciplinary research initiatives.
• A Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline is mandatory.
• Over 25 years of progressive research experience, including leadership roles in complex research programs within academic and industrial environments.
• Familiarity with navigating federal funding mechanisms is essential.
• Extensive experience working with large international cohort studies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of protein sample preparation, mass spectrometry, and data analysis.
• Proven track record of high-impact research, publications, patents, or commercially successful innovations.
• Strong analytical, statistical, and experimental design capabilities.
• Experience in leading cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated capacity to influence strategy and make decisions based on data.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent research projects.
• History of securing external research funding or leading collaborative research partnerships.
• Established professional network within academia, industry, or research communities.
