This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Spearhead the design, implementation, and enhancement of the bank's capital planning framework and governance processes.
• Supervise the bank's stress testing program, which includes scenario design, modeling, and analysis.
• Ensure the timely and precise submission of regulatory capital plans, stress test results, and associated documentation to the Federal Reserve and other regulatory authorities.
• Collaborate with finance, risk management, and business units to refine capital forecasting methodologies and guarantee the accuracy and integration of capital projections.
• Formulate strategies for capital optimization while balancing regulatory expectations, risk exposure, and objectives for business growth.
• Monitor changing regulatory capital requirements, such as Basel III/IV, the Federal Reserve's tailoring framework for Category IV banks, and stress testing expectations.
• Engage with regulators concerning inquiries, examinations, and feedback.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and governance frameworks.
• Lead both quantitative and qualitative assessments of capital adequacy and maintain adequate capital buffers in baseline and stressed situations.
• Provide senior leadership with insights on capital trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Advise on the development, validation, and continuous enhancement of stress testing and capital forecasting models.
• Manage a team of professionals specializing in capital planning and stress testing.
• Work collaboratively with senior management, Treasury, Finance, Risk, and Business teams.
• Present capital planning outcomes, stress test findings, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
• Oversee employment, performance evaluations, staff development and training, disciplinary actions, succession planning, and compliance requirements.
• Undertake special projects and additional duties as necessary.
• Comply with regulatory and compliance policies, standards, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
• Complete requisite compliance training.
• Bachelor's Degree (4 years or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
• Experience interacting with regulators and managing regulatory examinations.
• Background working in a Category IV bank or a comparable regulatory setting.
• Extensive knowledge of regulatory capital requirements, including Basel III/IV, DFAST, and the Federal Reserve's tailoring framework for Category IV banks.
• In-depth understanding of industry, market, economic, and regulatory developments and their overall impact on the Bank.
• Familiarity with liquidity risk management and resolution planning.
• Strong grasp of macroeconomic trends and their implications for capital adequacy.
• Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to present complex financial concepts clearly to senior executives and regulators.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of management.
• Proficiency in training, delegating, motivating, and reviewing staff work, as well as prioritizing team assignments.
• Travel requirements: 10% or less.
