Director of People Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the People Operations function, ensuring all processes are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

• Take ownership of employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, employee modifications, and documentation management.

• Enhance and maintain HR systems, policies, and procedures as the organization grows.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.

• Lead compensation initiatives, including salary evaluations, benchmarking, job classifications, and compensation planning.

• Administer employee benefits programs and act as the main point of contact for benefits management.

• Supervise 401(k) administration, encompassing employee communication, compliance obligations, and vendor relationships.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to managers regarding employee relations, performance issues, team development, and organizational effectiveness.

• Identify ways to enhance employee engagement and retention.

• Comprehensive understanding of compensation, benefits management, performance evaluation, and employment practices.

• Experience in managing 401(k) programs and collaborating with benefits providers and brokers.

• Demonstrated ability to coach managers and influence leaders at all organizational levels.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to quickly establish trust.

• Hands-on, practical approach, and readiness to engage actively when needed.

• Dedication to fostering an outstanding employee experience while contributing to business growth.

• A proactive and inquisitive mindset regarding how AI can enhance your role through automation, ideation, or more informed decision-making.

• Experience in leading People Operations in a rapidly growing startup is advantageous.

• Familiarity with tools such as Rippling, Lattice, Pave, and Carta is a plus.
