This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develops and nurtures relationships with Navy customers, gaining insight into their missions, budgets, purchasing behaviors, operational needs, and requirements to pinpoint capture opportunities.
• Serves as the account manager for the US Navy and USMC.
• Assists in all facets of capture activities for opportunities within your portfolio to enhance offerings and increase the Probability of Win (PWin), including solution development, teaming, staffing, Proposal to Win (PTW), and capability gap analysis for designated opportunities.
• Holds overall accountability for fostering customer relationships and aiding in the creation and execution of the Capture Plan alongside capture managers throughout all stages of the capture and proposal development process up to award for designated opportunities.
• Facilitates gate reviews, ensuring the effective and efficient application of established best practices.
• Creates a timeline to fulfill required capture activities between gate reviews.
• Formulates initial capture and win strategies, collaborating with the Capture Manager and Proposal Team to guarantee proposals meet customer needs, are persuasive, and align with pricing objectives.
• Oversees necessary operational support for responding to RFI, White Papers, and RFP opportunities.
• Participates in Trade Shows and Industry Days.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline.
• At least five years of relevant experience in Business Development, including three years focused on US Navy Business Development.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Clearance and Common Access Card (CAC).
• Proven track record of successfully capturing and winning multiple new business opportunities valued between $15-$25M.
• Experience within the Navy sector, particularly with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and related organizations tasked with the acquisition, modernization, and maintenance of surface, subsurface, and uncrewed platforms.
• Additional experience and success in Business Development with NIWC Atlantic and NAVSEA is preferred.
• Must possess strategic thinking skills, capable of developing and executing strategies that lead to the successful pursuit, capture, and implementation of new programs.
• Proficient in driving and adhering to the Shipley Capture Process from Opportunity Positioning and Qualification through Proposal Development and Opportunity Closing.
• Experience in customer relationship management and opportunity tracking, alongside a history of success in securing various contract types, including cost-plus fixed fee, fixed price, award fee, and performance-based contracting, is essential.
