This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.
• Lead and manage accounting and finance operations across various national offices in Asia, ensuring precision, uniformity, and adherence to regulatory, board, and global standards.
• Provide strategic guidance for budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital expenditures, and financial analysis at a regional scale.
• Ensure the timely and accurate submission and management of regional and country budgets, seamlessly integrated with strategic planning.
• Spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability of finance operations throughout the region.
• Assess which finance functions should be retained locally versus those that should be consolidated into a regional operational framework.
• Propel process enhancements, policy formulation, and data integrity initiatives, including improvements in business intelligence and reporting.
• Lead and cultivate multiple country-level accounting managers and finance leaders.
• Establish clear objectives and expectations, mentor performance, develop capabilities, and strengthen the regional finance leadership team.
• Transition the organization from a reliance on detailed operations to strategic, leader-driven execution.
• Collaborate closely with regional leadership, national office heads, and global senior leadership. Utilize financial insights, modeling, and analysis to advise leaders and influence decisions amidst uncertainty, trade-offs, and competing priorities.
• Anticipate regional and global economic trends that could affect financial planning and sustainability.
• Uphold Compassion’s dedication to child protection, cultural values, and organizational principles in all duties.
• Robust accounting background with senior leadership responsibilities (non-negotiable).
• Experience in leading multiple teams across countries or intricate organizational structures.
• Proven capability to operate at a strategic level without reverting to routine operational tasks.
• Demonstrated experience in guiding organizational change, consolidation, or growth in uncertain environments.
• Corporate finance experience with high standards for reporting precision and timeliness.
• Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders.
• Comfort in navigating cultural diversity, complexity, and dynamic structures.
• Preferably possess Regional or multi-country leadership experience in Asia, with exposure to global or matrixed organizations.
• Experience with nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the normal schedule.
