Director of Engineering – Cloud & Reliability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the transformation of infrastructure and establish best-in-class reliability practices.

• Design and implement modern infrastructure methodologies, including containerization and infrastructure-as-code.

• Create, implement, and support scalable AWS infrastructure, incorporating multi-region deployments.

• Revamp deployment pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable software delivery.

• Set up comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and incident response mechanisms using DataDog and related tools.

• Develop disaster recovery infrastructure and business continuity plans across Boulevard services.

• Create self-service infrastructure capabilities and implement advanced automation using Terraform and GitOps methodologies.

• Ensure adherence to industry standards (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2) and establish security controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, including more than 5 years of leadership experience with infrastructure teams of 5-15 engineers.

• Extensive knowledge of AWS services such as EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, and infrastructure automation using Terraform.

• Demonstrated experience in migrating applications to Kubernetes/EKS and implementing container-based architectures.

• Strong foundation in security practices, compliance frameworks (PCI, HIPAA, SOC 2), and security automation techniques.

• Experience in transforming CI/CD pipelines, applying GitOps methodologies, and facilitating rapid software delivery.

• Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana) and implementing thorough alerting strategies.

• Proven capability to collaborate with Product Engineering, Data Engineering, and Platform Services teams to support their technical initiatives.
