This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +19 more states.
• Lead the creation and execution of accredited continuing education programs for optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Perform thorough needs assessments to pinpoint gaps in clinical practice.
• Formulate measurable learning objectives.
• Choose educational formats tailored to the needs of the audience.
• Convert clinical evidence into comprehensible educational experiences.
• Supervise the production of educational materials, including slide presentations and learner guides.
• Maintain proficiency across a wide spectrum of clinical eyecare.
• Establish and nurture a robust network of key opinion leaders (KOLs).
• Design and execute strategies for measuring outcomes.
• Act as the internal authority on COPE and ACCME standards.
• Doctor of Optometry (OD), Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or a PhD in a health sciences discipline.
• A minimum of three years of experience in independent medical education, development of continuing education programs, or roles related to clinical faculty and curriculum development.
• Proficient understanding of COPE accreditation standards.
• Awareness of ACCME Standards for Integrity and Independence.
• Proven experience in creating needs assessments, learning objectives, and educational curricula for optometrists or ophthalmologists.
• Strong research capabilities, including the ability to read, assess, and synthesize primary clinical literature.
• An established network of clinical peers and thought leaders in optometry or ophthalmology.
