Director of Business Intelligence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to formulate and implement a detailed data analytics strategy that aligns with the overarching goals and growth objectives of the company.

• Establish robust partnerships throughout Jane to work alongside leaders from Development, Product, Marketing, and Support in prioritizing data-driven decision-making and aiding departments with their strategic plans.

• Discover opportunities to utilize data for driving innovation and improving operational efficiency, consistently enhancing data management practices to ensure sustainable implementations.

• Oversee and enhance our current analytics pipeline, which includes software, processes, and vendor management, while also implementing and integrating new visualization tools.

• Work in conjunction with the Privacy & Security team to enforce data governance policies and practices that ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team, promoting a culture of innovation and ongoing improvement within the BI team.

• Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and data-informed decision-making across the organization.

• Mentor and nurture technology leaders within the company, focusing on personal development and growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten years of experience in Business Intelligence or a related field, showcasing a successful leadership background within a SaaS or technology organization.

• Expertise in balancing requirements and objectives across the organization to thoughtfully scale BI/engineering tools in a values-driven manner.

• Strong technical proficiency with BI tools such as Snowflake, Looker, Fivetran, and Census.

• Ability to foster trusted relationships as a proactive and transparent communicator.

• Capable of negotiating, prioritizing, and making trade-off decisions with a customer-centric approach.

• Action-oriented, prepared to engage in detailed technical tasks while also creating scalable processes and empowering others.

• A well-informed perspective on the optimal strategies for data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes at Jane.

• A passion for mentorship and a proven track record of promoting a culture of data-informed decision-making.

• Exhibits curiosity, unafraid to challenge the status quo, and demonstrates a willingness to operate without ego.

• Enthusiastic about enhancing processes and utilizing technology to increase the efficiency of the BI team.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong sense of ownership.
