This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with leading financial institutions and clients in emerging markets to help them unlock the full potential of Experian's proprietary fraud data and analytics solutions.
• Co-create tailored fraud detection models alongside client teams, guiding them through the data, analytics environment, and Experian's unique fraud detection methodologies.
• Perform investigative analytics to assist clients in recognizing new fraud trends, emerging risk patterns, and evolving threats within their portfolios.
• Develop and implement scalable proof-of-value processes, which include standardized templates and automation, to facilitate expansion into new markets and client segments.
• Create self-service tools and onboarding resources that expedite the time-to-value for down-market clients and aid their journey towards self-sufficiency.
• Collaborate with product teams to define the analytics consulting strategy for market expansion.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a small team of data scientists, fostering an environment that promotes curiosity, collaboration, and continuous growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert to clients, translating complex analytical concepts into straightforward, actionable insights.
• Over 7 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or a similar quantitative discipline – or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates strong quantitative reasoning and analytical skills.
• Extensive expertise in analytics and machine learning, with practical experience across the entire modeling lifecycle; experience in fraud and/or credit analytics is preferred.
• Strong investigative analytics mindset — adept at identifying patterns, forming hypotheses, and deriving meaningful conclusions from complex, large-scale datasets.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop data scientists.
• Experience collaborating with clients or business partners in a consulting, advisory, or client-facing analytics capacity.
• Capable of transforming an ambiguous client requirement into a clearly defined hypothesis along with an analytical plan to address it.
• Background in designing scalable analytical processes, tools, or frameworks — ideally in a setting where repeatability and efficiency were key business priorities.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis and machine learning, including PySpark, Polars, NumPy, and Pandas; familiarity with large-scale data processing frameworks and cloud platforms, particularly Spark and AWS.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site client workshops and engagements.
