This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.
• Provide engineering guidance across electrical power, electrical safety, industrial controls, and digital manufacturing projects.
• Direct technical engineering efforts within a matrix organization, including the oversight and coordination of external engineering firms, system integrators, and contractors.
• Facilitate the growth of engineering talent and address technical disputes with internal collaborators.
• Maintain a robust understanding of emerging technologies while ensuring that corporate standards are established, upheld, and adhered to.
• Act as a crucial link between Digital Plant Floor projects and Corporate Information Technology data frameworks.
• Create and sustain electrical power and industrial controls specifications for equipment and installations across manufacturing sites.
• Support and enhance the electrical power safety program, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Guarantee adherence to relevant electrical codes and standards.
• Lead the controls obsolescence program, encompassing strategic planning and execution.
• Provide leadership in industrial controls and automation engineering across various locations.
• Propel Digital Transformation initiatives throughout all internal manufacturing sites.
• Lead and impact cross-functional teams in a matrix setting.
• Oversee and mentor external engineering consultants, system integrators, and contractors.
• Assist in the coaching, development, and performance management of professional engineering staff.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve intricate technical issues and conflicts.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and apply best practices when relevant.
• Ensure that corporate engineering standards are consistently developed, maintained, and followed by both internal and external partners.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 10 years of progressive technical leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell plant floor electrical and control systems.
• Experience managing at least 4 direct reports.
• Direct responsibility for large-scale capital projects ranging from $5 million to $15 million.
• At least 4 years of experience in food manufacturing settings.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects within a matrix organization.
• Familiarity with collaborating with external engineering firms and system integrators.
• Strong comprehension of electrical safety, compliance standards, and industrial automation systems.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30 – 50 percent within North America, based on project requirements.
