This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee and direct multiple software engineering teams to ensure they operate efficiently and align with the organization's goals.
• Provide mentorship and career advancement opportunities for engineering managers and senior engineers, aiding their development as leaders.

• Promote a culture of proactive responsibility (identifying issues before clients do) and instill a sense of ownership and urgency in swiftly addressing client-facing production challenges. Create an atmosphere where individuals not only identify problems but also contribute to solutions.
• Develop and articulate a long-term technical vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s business objectives. Collaborate with C-level executives to transform business needs into actionable engineering plans.
• Work in partnership with product management to formulate and prioritize the engineering roadmap, ensuring effective resource allocation to meet project deadlines and business priorities.
• Plan and oversee the engineering budget, ensuring optimal resource utilization while balancing project demands and cost limitations.
• Ensure your team is educated about and adheres to Rithum's software development processes and standards, including Scrum agile development, automated testing, internationalization, usability, scalability, and service-oriented architecture initiatives.
• Consistently evaluate and enhance development processes to boost efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and improve collaboration between engineering and other departments.
• Supervise the design and development of advanced software solutions that scale across numerous servers and adhere to rigorous fault tolerance standards.
• Regularly report progress, technical challenges, and project outcomes to the executive team, offering insights that inform broader business strategy.
• Ensure all stakeholders, including product, operations, and business leaders, are aligned on technical initiatives and that expectations are effectively managed.
• Engage with key clients, partners, and external stakeholders when necessary, offering technical insights and ensuring the seamless delivery of software products.
• 10+ years of experience in software development within the SaaS industry.
• Experience with AWS data services.
• Strong SQL skills at scale with columnar/analytical query engines (Redshift, BigQuery, or equivalent).
• Proficiency in data warehouse design and ETL/ELT pipeline architecture.
• Familiarity with data lake patterns.
• Knowledge of streaming or near-real-time data patterns (Kafka, Kinesis, or similar).
• Proven track record of ownership of data quality, governance, and schema management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and retain engaged, high-performing software development teams.
• Experience managing the complete software development lifecycle of SaaS applications at scale.
• Evidence of successfully navigating a fast-paced, dynamic industry (such as e-commerce) and delivering products that capture market share.
• Experience utilizing AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) to enhance outcomes, including but not limited to communication drafting, data analysis, prompt engineering, and/or documentation.
• Exceptional written and spoken English skills.
