This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assume complete responsibility for the entire data lifecycle, encompassing pipeline orchestration, dbt, warehouse infrastructure, and foundational models.
• Establish data quality, freshness, and accessibility SLAs while creating proactive observability and data contracts.
• Convert business requirements into technical roadmaps and scalable architectural solutions.
• Lead efforts in dimensional modeling, star schema design, semantic layers, and foundational data models.
• Collaborate strategically with Analytics & Data Science teams on data architecture and standards.
• Maintain clear documentation delineating the boundary between core product systems and analytics engineering.
• Guide and expand a distributed team of domestic and offshore data engineers.
• Promote technical excellence through design reviews, RFCs, code audits, and architectural discipline.
• Conduct roadmap evaluations and synchronize platform capacity with business objectives.
• Oversee data infrastructure for revenue cycle management, billing, member lifecycle, and financial reporting.
• Spearhead HIPAA compliance initiatives, including PHI access controls, deidentification, and audit preparedness.
• Encourage AI-native engineering methodologies and implement responsible AI governance and safety measures.
• Develop the context layer for AI-driven analytics tools.
• More than ten years of experience in data engineering or platform domains.
• Minimum of four years of experience leading and scaling high-performing teams.
• Proficient hands-on experience with Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Dagster or Airflow.
• Expert-level skills in dbt, including large-scale architecture and semantic layer implementation.
• Experience integrating dbt with BI tools like Looker or Omni.
• Advanced skills in dimensional modeling at scale.
• Strong SQL and proficient Python engineering capabilities.
• Experience in architecting CI/CD pipelines and conducting automated quality testing within dbt ecosystems.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and promote the adoption of standards and tools without direct authority.
• Previous experience collaborating strategically with Analytics and Data Science teams.
• Experience in managing distributed domestic and offshore engineering teams.
• Professional understanding of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive healthcare data, including claims, eligibility, and clinical records.
• Experience utilizing Cursor or Claude Code in production workflows.
