This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the Data Engineering and Data Science Engineering operations for IAA, establishing the technical vision, delivery strategy, and operational rhythm.
• Develop and enhance scalable data platforms, BI architecture, and ML-enablement capabilities utilizing the Azure data and analytics stack.
• Lead the strategy and execution across Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Power BI, Azure BI technologies, and contemporary cloud data platforms.
• Collaborate with business and functional leaders to address high-impact problems across Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and other critical areas.
• Direct the design and execution of robust data pipelines, semantic models, dashboards, self-service analytics, forecasting solutions, and machine learning systems.
• Contribute to shaping the roadmap for advanced analytics, predictive modeling, experimentation, and AI-driven insights.
• Mentor, coach, and develop data engineering and data science talent while elevating the technical standards across the team.
• Establish and promote strong engineering practices concerning architecture, delivery quality, scalability, governance, and operational excellence.
• Work closely with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure that data and AI solutions align with platform, product, and business priorities.
• Serve as a senior thought partner to leadership regarding data strategy, technical trade-offs, and investment priorities.
• Demonstrated experience leading Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, and/or Data Science Engineering teams at the Director level or equivalent.
• Extensive knowledge of the Azure BI/data technology stack, including:
• Microsoft Fabric
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Power BI
• Additional Azure data and analytics services
• Strong comprehension of data engineering architecture, modern analytics platforms, and scalable data pipelines.
• Solid background in data science, machine learning, and model operationalization.
• Proven capability to address complex business challenges through data, analytics, and technical leadership.
• Exceptional mentoring, coaching, and people leadership abilities with experience in nurturing high-performing technical teams.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills; adept at collaborating with a diverse range of technical and non-technical partners, including Ops, Business, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.
