Director, Data Engineering – Business Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and develop a team of data engineers, offering guidance and leadership within the department.

• Shape the future of the data engineering practice to provide value to both internal and external stakeholders by utilizing advanced technologies to significantly enhance quality, scale, and delivery depth.

• Design and create scalable data pipelines to gather, process, and store substantial volumes of essential data from diverse sources.

• Propel the advancement of the Business Data platform by utilizing modern data technologies such as Spark, Airflow, and Databricks.

• Collaborate across different organizational divisions with Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to translate business needs into technical requirements.

• Expertly convert business use cases into comprehensive data models that adapt with the evolving business landscape.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree (BS+) in Computer Science or a related discipline.

• Over 15 years of professional experience in quantitative data analysis and complex problem-solving.

• Strong preference for candidates with experience collaborating with product and go-to-market (GTM) teams.

• At least 5 years of experience leading Data Engineering teams.

• Extensive background in building and maintaining data-intensive applications and complex data pipelines.

• High proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, along with expert-level SQL skills.

• Demonstrated experience in data modeling and working with cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP) while leveraging AI to innovate Data Engineering delivery.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
