Director, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design a data infrastructure roadmap focused on a Lakehouse architecture

• Implement frameworks for data governance, cataloging, and lineage

• Collaborate with OT and Engineering teams to operationalize IIoT and supply chain data

• Manage the transition from legacy BI tools to contemporary analytics platforms

• Spearhead the shift to MLOps and DataOps methodologies

• Work with business unit leaders to pinpoint data products for expansion

• Develop and guide a high-performing team of data engineers, ML engineers, and data architects

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in data strategy, architecture, and engineering

• More than 5 years in a leadership capacity overseeing data & analytics teams

• Proven track record in designing Lakehouse architectures (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake)

• Demonstrated ability to operationalize AI/ML models in an enterprise setting

• Extensive knowledge of Azure data stacks (e.g., Synapse/Fabric, ADLS Gen2)

• High-level proficiency in Python, Spark, and SQL

• Strong background in CI/CD for data pipelines and infrastructure-as-code

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools

• Experience with advanced analytics, data science, or machine learning projects

• Preferred experience in manufacturing, industrial, or eCommerce sectors

• Capacity to perform in both office and manufacturing settings

• Willingness to work outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods

• Capability to lift 30-50 lbs without assistance

• Valid driver's license and passport required.
