Director, Data Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead, build, and develop the data engineering team.

• Take ownership of the strategy, roadmap, and execution of the enterprise data platform utilizing Databricks and AWS.

• Ensure that the production data platform is dependable, secure, and cost-effective.

• Manage the data engineering budget, which includes cloud expenses, tools, and consulting partnerships.

• Establish the engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices for the team.

• Champion enterprise master data management (MDM), encompassing the Unique Customer ID (UCID) initiative.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline; Master’s degree is preferred.

• Over 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering, data platform, or data architecture positions.

• More than 4 years of experience in directly managing and building engineering teams, including hiring and performance evaluation.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Databricks (Lakehouse architecture, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog) and AWS at an enterprise level.

• Proven track record of owning platform delivery and operations within a regulated environment (e.g., SOX, PCI-DSS, or similar).

• Demonstrated experience managing a budget and overseeing vendor or consulting partner relationships.
