This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Organic Content Strategy: Spearhead a dynamic content strategy and direction for comprehensive organic initiatives, primarily on Instagram and TikTok. Take charge of content pillars, editorial schedules, creative direction, and oversee the briefing process from start to finish.
• Short Form Video Expert: Provide expert insights, concepts, directions, and briefs to expand audiences and promote products through native short-form video.
• Community and Brand Voice: Manage each brand's social identity and presence. Oversee community engagement, trend responses, and the quick-turnaround content that keeps a brand prominent in the feed.
• Data Analysis: Transform a client's brand strategy and platform data into clear, engaging content ideas. This includes metrics such as hook retention, watch time, completion rate, engagement rate, saves, shares, follower growth, and comment sentiment. You are highly adept at adjusting content to enhance these metrics.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Communicate with Designers and Editors about asset creation, including short-form videos, carousels, Stories, motion graphics, and storyboards. You are capable of using Figma to refine layouts or creating edits in CapCut yourself when necessary; this role is not suited for strategy-only professionals.
• Executive Presentation: Clearly and confidently present content work and channel strategies to stakeholders and clients, providing strategic reasoning.
• Performance Iteration: Collaborate with the team to monitor platform data and social listening, informing content revisions to enhance results over time. Identify successful organic content that merits promotion into paid campaigns.
• Team Building: Develop processes, systems, and content frameworks that enhance quality and efficiency. Continuously improve our Organic Social service to ensure scalability without compromising rigor as volume increases.
• Minimum of 2 years in a Director-level or equivalent leadership position, with a track record of leading content strategy, managing teams, and achieving organic growth results.
• At least 4 years of experience in organic social media, with a particular focus on short-form video and native content for Instagram and TikTok. This role is not suitable for those who have not successfully grown an organic account or led content strategy on these platforms.
• A digital portfolio that highlights organic content work, including short-form video, creator content, and carousels. This should demonstrate your impact on metrics like watch time, engagement rate, saves, or follower growth, showcasing a strong creative range across both highly designed and low-fidelity native content.
• Proficiency in storyboarding, shooting, editing, and delivering content. You can easily navigate CapCut to adjust pacing and use Figma, Photoshop, or Illustrator to enhance assets. Strategy-only candidates will not be a good fit.
• Familiarity with hooks, formats, and platform metrics. You understand metrics such as hook retention, watch time, completion rate, engagement rate, saves, shares, and follower growth, using them to inform your next content decisions.
• Knowledge of how each platform's distribution works and why content achieves reach, beyond just aesthetic appeal.
• Experience using tools like Claude, Midjourney, Perplexity, Runway, or similar to increase efficiency and output. You have produced content with AI-assisted elements, rather than just conducting experiments.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, especially when presenting to clients. You give clear, actionable feedback to designers and editors and can effectively handle client pushback.
• Ability to transform ambiguous goals into measurable content concepts, monitor results, and determine the next steps independently.
• Comfortable working in Figma, including familiarity with Auto Layout, components, and systems. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and short-form editing tools.
• Unlimited PTO + US holidays: Recharging is integral to the job. Take the necessary time to maintain your sharpness.
• Remote-First Culture: Many positions are fully remote, while employees located in or around our New York or Lisbon headquarters are expected to adopt a hybrid work model with weekly office attendance. Hub locations include Brazil and Spain.
• Health & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage sponsored by the company.
• Financial Growth and Retirement: Darkroom offers a robust 401(k) plan with company matching and profit-sharing options to assist you in saving and growing alongside the company.
• Parental Leave: Flexible parental leave designed to support new parents during this significant transition.
• Growth: Our interdisciplinary model provides every Darkroomer with exposure beyond their primary role. Expand your skills, increase your influence, and remain at the forefront of the industry.
