
Director – Back-End Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.
• Develop the long-term strategy for Back-End Manufacturing and OSAT that aligns with Nexperia’s growth objectives.
• Lead key strategic projects, including make-or-buy analyses, optimization of the manufacturing footprint, capacity planning, and investment assessments.
• Assess and propose opportunities for external manufacturing collaborations, supplier networks, and outsourcing strategies.
• Carry out market research, competitive analysis, and business case formulation to aid executive decision-making.
• Simplify complex operational and business data into actionable strategic recommendations for senior executives.
• Work alongside cross-functional teams such as Business Groups, Back-End Operations, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Technology Development, and Corporate Strategy to propel impactful strategic initiatives.
• Lead strategic projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing adaptability, cost efficiency, and long-term supply resilience.
• Present strategic recommendations and updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Keep abreast of trends in the semiconductor industry, OSAT advancements, and emerging manufacturing opportunities.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Strategy, or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of experience in strategy, semiconductor manufacturing, consulting, operations strategy, or similar fields.
• Strong knowledge of semiconductor back-end manufacturing, assembly & test operations, or OSAT ecosystems is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, decisions regarding manufacturing footprints, outsourcing approaches, or make-or-buy evaluations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for developing business cases and delivering data-driven recommendations.
• Experience collaborating with senior leadership and managing complex, cross-functional strategic projects.
• Outstanding stakeholder management, communication, and influencing capabilities.
• Ability to function effectively in a global setting with diverse teams.
• Willingness to travel internationally as necessary to engage with manufacturing sites, OSAT partners, suppliers, and industry events.
