Director, AI Risk, Return and Resilience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide essential oversight, strategic direction, and thought leadership regarding the governance of Artificial Intelligence at Allstate.

• Lead the enterprise strategy and programs for AI risk, return, and resilience.

• Integrate and manage AI, data, and model integration within the organization while ensuring a strong governance framework.

• Collaborate across functions with senior leadership, technologists, data scientists, modelers, legal and compliance teams, risk professionals, and business leaders.

• Oversee sub-teams focused on the internal assessment of AI and evaluations of third-party AI solutions.

• Enhance and implement a comprehensive AI risk, return, and resilience strategy that includes considerations for agentic and generative AI.

• Coordinate the implementation of requirements for agentic, generative, and broader AI deployment across the organization.

• Advance, automate, and monitor the tracks of the AI risk program.

• Supervise the intake, enablement, and risk management of AI both internally and with third parties.

• Review, enhance, and formalize policies and standards for AI risk management.

• Lead the evaluation of AI models to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and ethical standards.

• Embed governance controls for AI models across first and second lines, proactively identifying deployed or modified AI models.

• Oversee the implementation requirements for AI deployment platforms from a risk management perspective.

• Support the AI Working Group, Operational Risk and Return Council, Enterprise Risk and Return Council, and Board Risk and Return Committee reporting.

• Manage a team of risk professionals.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (4 year) preferred.

• At least 15 years of experience preferred.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of the stated educational requirements.

• No certification, license, or registration is required for this position.

• Strong comprehension of business risk and AI risk, especially within the insurance sector.

• Profound understanding of the development, application, deployment, and governance of agentic and generative AI technologies.

• Strong thought leadership in AI governance, covering policies, standards, validations, post-production monitoring, and control expectations.

• Experience in evaluating machine learning, generative, and agentic AI, as well as natural language processing both prior to and after deployment.

• Technical expertise and experience in data science and model validation is a plus.

• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements concerning artificial intelligence and model governance.

• Ability to navigate complex situations and effectively communicate intricate subject matter using various communication styles and methods.

• Strong leadership skills and people management capabilities with a team of risk professionals.

• Candidates must undergo a background investigation.
