Director, AI Center of Excellence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee the AI Center of Excellence for LanguageLine.

• Assist in shaping and transforming AI strategy into a functional operating model.

• Establish governance structures, prioritize opportunities, and facilitate responsible adoption.

• Support business teams in translating AI concepts into quantifiable operational and client value.

• Implement Responsible AI Governance through policies, standards, and playbooks.

• Collaborate with business and functional leaders to identify, evaluate, and prioritize AI opportunities.

• Create frameworks to assess AI adoption, effectiveness, and business impact.

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a small team focused on rapid prototyping, enablement, and acceleration of delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading or scaling an AI, automation, digital transformation, or innovation function.

• Background in defining governance, operational models, and delivery mechanisms for emerging technology initiatives.

• Experience collaborating with business leaders to prioritize and operationalize AI use cases.

• Familiarity with working across various business functions, including sales, finance, marketing, HR, and operations, to identify barriers to adoption, workflow opportunities, and training requirements.

• Knowledge of modern AI capabilities, such as LLM-based workflows, copilots, automation, and model-enabled business applications.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development and coding tools to enhance team velocity, prototyping, and software delivery workflows.

• Ability to balance the speed of experimentation with security, risk, legal, and compliance considerations.

• Strongly preferred experience in designing, leading, or scaling technology adoption, enablement, or training programs.

• Experience in building cross-functional programs across various business units or organizations.

• Proven track record of leading small, high-performing teams in uncertain environments.
