This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Independently assess and report digital histopathology cases to the standard expected of a consultant.
• Provide prompt and precise diagnostic reports across various NHS organizations.
• Primarily report on gynaecological specimens, while also handling gastrointestinal and dermatopathology cases.
• Report on general histopathology cases as needed.
• Engage in internal quality assurance, peer review, and discrepancy review activities.
• Collaborate with laboratory teams when further clarification or additional investigations are necessary.
• Ensure adherence to the guidance of the Royal College of Pathologists and local NHS reporting standards.
• Contribute to service stability through adaptable sessional work.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and laboratory services as required.
• Access and report on cases electronically from various NHS laboratories utilizing validated digital pathology platforms.
• Full GMC registration with a valid licence to practise.
• Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or an equivalent qualification.
• GMC Specialist Registration in Histopathology or eligibility for specialist registration.
• Extensive consultant-level experience in Histopathology.
• Proven experience in reporting gynaecological histopathology.
• Proven experience in reporting gastrointestinal histopathology.
• Proven experience in reporting dermatopathology.
• Familiarity with digital pathology reporting systems or a willingness to receive platform-specific training.
• Exceptional written communication and diagnostic reporting abilities.
• Experience across multiple NHS organizations is preferred.
• Involvement in External Quality Assurance (EQA) schemes is preferred.
• Prior experience in digital pathology reporting is advantageous.
• Additional subspecialty expertise is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings is advantageous.
