DevSec Ops Engineer – Remote EMEA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the implementation of PCI DSS controls throughout both infrastructure and application layers

• Architect and secure AWS infrastructure by applying best practices related to IAM, networking, and encryption

• Take ownership of Infrastructure as Code and enhance deployment reliability across various environments

• Integrate security measures within CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows

• Enhance platform scalability, observability, reliability, and fault tolerance

• Oversee security tools, monitoring systems, logging, and incident readiness procedures

• Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders on compliance initiatives

• Establish cloud security and infrastructure best practices for the engineering team

• Mentor engineers on secure infrastructure and development methodologies

• Contribute to the long-term architectural vision and operational strategy of the platform

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or similar backend infrastructure roles

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS in production settings

• Demonstrated experience in implementing or engaging with PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or comparable compliance frameworks

• Proficient with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, or similar technologies

• In-depth understanding of:

• - IAM and least-privilege access design

• - Network security concepts (VPCs, subnets, isolation, segmentation)

• - Encryption, secrets management, and secure infrastructure design

• Experience in building and managing secure, scalable cloud systems

• Strong grasp of DevSecOps principles and secure CI/CD workflows

• Capability to make practical infrastructure and security decisions in dynamic environments

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams

• Ownership mentality with robust problem-solving skills

• Experience in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated sectors (preferred)

• Familiarity with TypeScript / Node.js ecosystems (preferred)

• Exposure to monitoring, logging, and incident response tools (preferred)

• Familiarity with distributed systems and high-availability architecture (preferred)

• Experience in enhancing cloud cost optimization and operational efficiency (preferred)

• Previous experience in startup or scale-up environments (preferred)

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB, or similar production databases (preferred)
