This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the design, execution, and continuous management of scalable AWS cloud infrastructure along with intricate technical projects.
• Mentor engineers to ensure successful project delivery while providing leadership in areas such as performance management, goal setting, feedback, career development, and involvement in hiring processes.
• Develop and maintain Bitbucket Pipelines for CI/CD, utilize Terraform for infrastructure as code, and enhance internal platform tools.
• Carry out complex production deployments and enhance deployment safety through automation, verification, and rollback strategies.
• Define the team's technical implementation strategy and establish a roadmap for continuous improvement.
• Propel enterprise ecosystem enhancements through direct technical leadership.
• Implement and refine the team’s production ownership model.
• Achieve team objectives while aligning with organizational operational goals.
• Engage with leadership and cross-functional teams; create and present technical documentation and guidance.
• Uphold enterprise standards, best practices in security, compliance, environment management, and processes for change and incident/PIR.
• Design, construct, and enhance shared engineering platforms, automation, IaC, CI/CD, developer tools, and self-service capabilities.
• Assess and advocate for AI-driven engineering and operational automation to boost productivity, deployment quality, incident response, and platform operations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in DevOps.
• More than 7 years in a DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering position.
• Proven track record of leading engineers, managing technical delivery, and handling complex cross-functional technical projects.
• Solid experience with AWS services and cloud migration initiatives.
• Extensive knowledge of CI/CD tools and modern pipeline automation; experience with Bitbucket Pipelines is preferred.
• Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Strong familiarity with Atlassian products, including JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
• Comprehensive understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience in leading incident response, ensuring production reliability, mentoring engineers, and establishing technical standards for the team.
• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to produce clear documentation and convey technical direction effectively.
• Good organizational judgment with an awareness of cross-team impacts.
• Capability to lead unfamiliar or ambiguous technical projects with minimal oversight.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is mandatory.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional is preferred.
• AWS Certified Security Specialty is optional.
• AWS CloudOps Administrator Associate certification is required.
