DevOps Engineer, Talent Pipeline – GitHub Migration Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Migrate source code repositories from GitHub Enterprise Server, BitBucket, or GitLab to GitHub Enterprise Cloud.

• Collaborate with client engineers and leadership to gather requirements and provide regular updates.

• Develop and document a migration strategy, including the necessary tooling and automation.

• Work alongside project management to plan and implement migration phases.

• Assess existing GitHub Enterprise Server configurations and repository metadata to ensure precise migration.

• Resolve issues related to file sizes, compatibility, network connectivity, or permissions during the migration process.

• Create and maintain scripts to enhance the efficiency of migration activities, interacting with required APIs from the source control management systems.

• Develop GitHub Actions workflows to facilitate migration efforts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong expertise in GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitLab, GitHub Enterprise Server, and/or BitBucket.

• Proven experience in planning and executing source control migrations, including scope definition, branch mapping, history retention, and permission translation.

• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation purposes.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices is advantageous.

• Knowledge of package management is preferred.
