DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of CI/CD pipelines from start to finish using GitHub Actions, which includes managing self-hosted runner infrastructure, enhancing build speed, implementing caching, eliminating flaky jobs, and ensuring safe automated deployments.

• Operate and enhance Kubernetes environments, including self-managed K3s on bare metal and deployments on GCP cloud.

• Oversee PostgreSQL operations, which encompass schema migrations, backup strategies, point-in-time recovery, and performance optimization.

• Create and sustain observability through metrics, logs, dashboards, and alerting systems.

• Manage backup and disaster recovery procedures, conduct restore testing, and maintain operational runbooks.

• Strengthen platform security through effective secrets management, TLS implementation, least-privilege access, overlay networking, and dependency oversight.

• Coordinate production incidents and document root causes along with corrective measures.

• Aim to reduce infrastructure expenses while ensuring reliability.

• Introduce responsible AI-assisted engineering workflows utilizing tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, or similar.

• Collaborate with internal engineers and external development partners.

• Maintain communication with the US management team regarding priorities, risks, and incidents.

• Manage production issues from initial alert through to documented root cause analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.

• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including aspects like deployment, networking, storage, upgrades, and ideally experience with self-managed or bare-metal clusters.

• Extensive experience with CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions or similar tools.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL administration, covering migrations, backups, restores, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with Docker, Linux administration, shell scripting, and programming in Python or Node.js.

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as GCP or equivalent AWS/Azure.

• Knowledge of monitoring platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.

• Proven track record in operating production customer-facing platforms.

• Practical experience using AI coding tools in production repositories.

• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Located in India.

• Available to work until approximately 11:30 PM IST to ensure overlap with the US management team.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with communications or CPaaS platforms.

• Preferred qualifications: experience with hybrid bare-metal and cloud infrastructures.

• Preferred qualifications: familiarity with Cloudflare, GitOps (ArgoCD/Flux), and Infrastructure as Code.

• Preferred qualifications: knowledge of ORM migration workflows such as Prisma.

• Preferred qualifications: achievements in cost optimization.

• Preferred qualifications: experience in SOC 2 or similar security environments.
