DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and oversee scalable AWS infrastructure utilizing EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB/ALB, and EKS.

• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code and deployment processes using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

• Apply cloud security best practices, which include IAM, encryption, network segmentation, logging, and compliance measures.

• Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, security, and cost while proactively addressing issues.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and various DevOps tools.

• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.

• Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and resilient cloud architectures.

• Work collaboratively with development and operations teams to translate application needs into secure and efficient AWS solutions.

• Assume additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support team goals and ensure project success.

• Complete fingerprinting at a government facility and undergo a background check as part of the hiring process.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of relevant experience as a DevOps Engineer.

• Must reside within the continental United States.

• Significant hands-on experience with AWS compute, storage, networking, databases, and security services.

• Production experience with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.

• Proficient in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and system management.

• Strong grasp of AWS security, networking, and the shared responsibility model.

• Experience with subnetting, routing, load balancing, firewall rules, and VPN connectivity.

• Familiarity with CI/CD principles, automation, and deployment tools.

• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities across AWS and CI/CD environments.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile development settings.

• Capability to obtain government clearance.

• Experience with the VA or other government entities.

• Background in managing containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.

• Familiarity with current CI/CD tools and practices, including GitHub Actions.

• One or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.

• Must complete fingerprinting at a government facility and undergo a background check.

• Currently, unable to provide sponsorship.
