DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, construct, and uphold CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitLab to facilitate application and infrastructure deployments.

• Develop and oversee Infrastructure as Code (IaC) employing CloudFormation, Ansible, and associated tools.

• Architect and manage cloud infrastructure within AWS and Azure environments.

• Deploy, administer, and enhance containerized workloads on Amazon EKS.

• Automate repetitive operational tasks to boost deployment speed, reliability, and consistency.

• Oversee patch management processes across both infrastructure and application environments.

• Assist in vulnerability management efforts, encompassing scanning, remediation tracking, and reporting.

• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure DevOps practices align with federal security and compliance standards (NIST, FISMA).

• Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure, pipeline, and deployment challenges.

• Team up with Program Management and technical leads to meet contract deliverables and documentation needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience in DevOps engineering, with a robust background in cloud infrastructure.

• Practical experience with GitLab and CI/CD pipeline development.

• Significant expertise with Infrastructure as Code tools such as CloudFormation and Ansible.

• Proficient in both AWS and Azure cloud platforms.

• Experience in deploying and managing containerized applications on EKS.

• Familiar with patch management and vulnerability management processes and tools.

• Strong scripting and automation capabilities (Python, Bash, or similar).

• Capability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to function effectively within a fully remote, distributed team environment.
