DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate software build, testing, scanning, and deployment workflows.

• Create and oversee GitLab CI/CD or comparable automation pipelines.

• Automate repetitive tasks related to development, building, packaging, and deployment.

• Work in partnership with software developers, platform engineers, and cybersecurity teams to enhance release processes.

• Incorporate automated security, compliance, and quality assessments into CI/CD pipelines.

• Assist with the build and deployment of containerized applications using tools such as Docker, Podman, or similar technologies.

• Diagnose and resolve issues related to pipelines, builds, deployments, and environments across development and testing settings.

• Contribute to enhancing software supply chain security and deployment reliability.

• Support Agile development methodologies and engage in cross-functional technical planning.

• Identify areas for enhancing automation, efficiency, security, and consistency throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related discipline.

• US citizenship with the capability to obtain and uphold a security clearance.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Practical experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.

• Proficient in writing and managing pipeline configurations.

• Experienced in automating build, testing, scanning, and deployment workflows.

• Scripting skills for automation and operational tasks using Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with implementing automated security and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of securing CI/CD pipelines and supporting software supply chain security practices.

• Proficient in Git and Git-based workflows.

• Experience working in Agile development settings and with cross-functional teams.
