This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Designing, constructing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions to automate the build, testing, and deployment processes across both development and production environments.
• Developing infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform to enable repeatable, version-controlled, and auditable infrastructure deployments.
• Automating the deployment and configuration of applications, bioinformatics pipelines, and associated services in both GCP and AWS environments.
• Creating and sustaining automation scripts in Python and Shell/Bash to minimize manual operations, enhance deployment reliability, and boost developer productivity.
• Overseeing containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Run, and AWS container services.
• Configuring and upkeeping monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure complete visibility into the health of applications and pipelines.
• Implementing security measures across CI/CD pipelines, including secrets management, access control, and vulnerability scanning, maintaining a regulated-environment focus.
• Managing configuration management for application environments and bioinformatics workstations.
• Developing clear and comprehensive documentation for deployment processes, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides that adhere to regulatory compliance standards.
• Leading continuous improvement efforts to minimize deployment friction, enhance build times, and increase developer efficiency.
• Mentoring and offering technical guidance to development teams regarding DevOps best practices, cloud-native patterns, and tools.
• 5-10 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or software engineering with a strong emphasis on automation.
• Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, with a preference for GitHub Actions; GitLab CI or Jenkins experience is also relevant.
• Strong practical experience with GCP and AWS, including the deployment and management of production workloads in both platforms.
• Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure-as-code automation and provisioning tasks.
• Solid experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes, which are essential for this position.
• Strong scripting capabilities in Python and Shell/Bash; you should be comfortable developing automation from the ground up, rather than merely adapting existing templates.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• A solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, Git version control workflows, and branching strategies.
• Experience in implementing security best practices within CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
• Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to produce clear and effective process documentation.
