DevOps Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and implement automation processes for the provisioning, configuration, and validation of cloud platform environments.

• Develop end-to-end workflows that link infrastructure setup, application deployment, health checks, and operational transitions.

• Convert manual build and deployment tasks into repeatable, well-documented processes.

• Assist in defining the optimal approach for creating and managing platform environments.

• Collaborate with Kubernetes-based environments to facilitate cluster setup, deployment automation, configuration, and validation.

• Automate post-deployment activities, health checks, service readiness evaluations, and failure detection mechanisms.

• Aid platform teams in enhancing the consistency, reliability, and observability of environment creation and updates.

• Contribute to improving the reliability of deployment pipelines, infrastructure modifications, and operational runbooks.

• Integrate automation workflows with backend services, internal APIs, scripts, and platform tools.

• Develop practical tools that empower engineering teams to work more efficiently without increasing operational risks.

• Document assumptions, workflow steps, dependencies, rollback strategies, and known limitations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure automation, backend automation, or related fields.

• Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes.

• Proficient in building CI/CD pipelines and automating deployment processes.

• Experience in automating infrastructure, environment setups, or platform delivery workflows.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Proficient in scripting or developing small services using Bash, Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.

• Experience in integrating automation with APIs, backend services, internal tools, or workflow systems.

• Familiarity with Terraform, Crossplane, Helm, or other automation tools for infrastructure/platform is advantageous.

• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Argo Workflows, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar is a significant plus.

• Proven track record in building health checks, validation scripts, rollback workflows, and operational runbooks.

• Experience in enterprise platforms, SAP delivery, or complex cloud infrastructure environments is a plus.
