Development Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product usage and optimal practices.

• Identify and troubleshoot intricate technical problems and offer solutions or alternatives.

• Engage with customers via a ticketing system, with phone support occasionally necessary for complex or urgent matters.

• Collaborate regularly with the Support and Engineering teams.

• Assist in the creation of documentation.

• Participate in the development of internal software tools for automating customer issue diagnostics.

• Join a weekend on-call rotation every 4-8 weeks (daytime hours only).

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of popular DevOps tools and services such as: Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory/Nexus, Kubernetes, git & GitHub.

• Fundamental knowledge of Linux system administration.

• Strong communication skills (fluency in English is essential).

• Ability to work independently.

• Capacity to quickly learn and understand new technologies.

• Empathy towards our customers' needs.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience required.

• Knowledge in system administration, particularly in Linux, storage, and/or networking.

• Familiarity with common enterprise environments and technologies such as LDAP and databases.

• Understanding of common web application architectures, SSL, REST API concepts, etc.

• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment principles and practices.

• Experience with cloud computing environments.

• Programming skills ranging from shell scripting to Java development.

• Contributions to the open source community, particularly with Jenkins.

• Prior experience in roles that involve customer interaction.

• Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent practical experience.

• Relevant certifications from cloud computing providers, Kubernetes, etc.
