This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.
• Conduct client interviews primarily in Spanish, utilizing a trauma-informed approach.
• Extract impactful quotes while ensuring respect for clients and legal/social work teams.
• Create narratives that are clear, meaningful, and empowering.
• Organize and expand a library of written, video, photo, and audio materials developed in collaboration with clients and the team to enhance organizational messaging for development, communications, advocacy, and programs.
• Generate high-quality, inspiring, publication-ready content across diverse tones and formats, including newsletters, direct mail, weekly e-communications, fundraising appeals, and other donor correspondence in collaboration with the Communications Manager.
• Develop communications that motivate significant investment in alignment with mission needs and donor interests.
• Evaluate strategies for effectiveness using data and feedback from supporters and the team.
• Support other external and internal communications as required.
• Craft strategic, inspiring, publication-ready content with clarity, warmth, and accessibility across various tones and formats; swiftly master and consistently apply the organizational voice, demonstrate strong editorial judgment, graciously incorporate feedback, and assist colleagues in doing the same.
• Manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously, working collaboratively with staff, clients, designers, photographers, and others to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality materials using project management strategies and software.
• Stay informed about communications best practices, emerging trends in nonprofit storytelling, and digital platform changes to adjust content strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with the team to maintain and oversee the social media calendar and accounts, including content creation and curation to align with the organizational voice.
• Supervise the social media calendar.
• Develop and update website content as necessary.
• Lead the research, writing, and production of the organization's annual report, gathering data, impact metrics, and stories from various departments to ensure the final product accurately reflects the year in review, embodies the organizational voice, celebrates milestones, and encourages ongoing donor investment.
• Ensure high-quality photography and design throughout the report, coordinating with team members and external partners to manage production, printing, and distribution.
• Create significant written, visual, and multimedia assets such as booklets, short videos, archival projects, talking points for key partners, documentary-style films, and art exhibitions.
• Seek opportunities to elevate organizational narratives through external publications, including essays, long-form journalism, or book-length projects.
• Implement special projects as assigned from conception to completion, coordinating with internal teams and external collaborators to ensure a high-quality final product.
• Co-supervise the Communications Assistant as part of the management team and provide coverage for the Communications Manager (such as responding to media inquiries and preparing press releases) and other roles as necessary.
• Assist in organizing and executing Development department events and objectives.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve FIRRP’s fundraising targets.
• Complete five personalized donor actions (thank-you calls or personalized emails) each week, aiming to cultivate relationships with key donors.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in writing, communications, marketing, or social media; experience in graphic design and/or photography is a plus.
• Fluency in Spanish, both spoken and written.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with Raiser's Edge and Asana is a plus.
• Exceptional writing skills with the ability to produce publication-ready work across various tones, formats, and audiences with minimal supervision.
• Open to feedback, with a willingness to incorporate diverse tones and voices into a cohesive and inspiring piece.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines independently.

• Travel is required for this position; a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are necessary.
• Proven computer skills with an advanced understanding of basic office applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
