This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Expand the Dapr OSS Community: Enhance contributor growth, engagement, and adoption metrics across GitHub, Discord, and other platforms.
• Moderate & Cultivate the Ecosystem: Actively oversee the Dapr Discord (and upcoming community platforms), address technical inquiries, acknowledge contributors, and promote a friendly, high-value environment.
• Develop Engaging Content: Produce high-quality blog articles for the Dapr blog and Diagrid Catalyst, create tutorials, architectural guides, and sample applications highlighting Dapr + AI agents, workflows, state management, service invocation, and more.
• Lead Webinars & Live Presentations: Proactively organize and conduct technical webinars, workshops, and live demonstrations on a regular schedule.
• Manage YouTube & Video Presence: Take ownership of the Dapr/Diagrid YouTube channel — script, record, edit, and publish videos, demos, and recordings of community events.
• Coordinate Events & Meetups: Assist in organizing and hosting Dapr Meetups, Dapr Days, conference presentations, and community events both locally in the Bay Area and globally (with travel as necessary).
• Build Diagrid Demos & Tools: Develop sample applications, starters, and reference architectures that showcase best practices for Dapr in production and AI agent scenarios.
• Collect Feedback & Influence Product: Serve as the voice of the developer community — highlight friction points, feature requests, and success stories to Engineering and Product teams.
• Represent Diagrid publicly: Present at conferences, participate in podcasts, engage on social media (X, LinkedIn, etc.), and act as a trusted advocate for Dapr and Diagrid.
• Possess prior experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or Community Management.
• Have over 5 years of software engineering experience, with robust hands-on expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, Kubernetes, or microservices.
• Be well-acquainted with Dapr (or comparable projects like Temporal, Camunda, Orkes, etc.) and enthusiastic about its potential in the AI agent era.
• Enjoy content creation and have a proven history of blogs, videos, talks, or open-source contributions that gained attention.
• Excel in community building — you’ve moderated Discords/Slack, expanded OSS projects, or led successful meetup groups.
• Be an effective communicator who can elucidate complex topics (stateful workflows, actor models, sidecar architecture, LLM orchestration) clearly and passionately.
• Take pleasure in publicly shipping code and creating demos using Python, Go, TypeScript, or .NET.
• Flourish in a dynamic startup environment with high levels of ownership and changing priorities.
