This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Oversee and develop travel programs throughout Australia and New Zealand, from initial concept to final execution, aligning with the company's overall business objectives, goals, and standards.
• Partner with clients to gain insights into their travel preferences and interests, crafting exceptional travel experiences tailored to their needs.
• Create and arrange personalized travel itineraries that surpass client expectations.
• Prepare detailed itineraries: this includes drafting trip outlines, coordinating with in-country operators and suppliers regarding availability and logistics; preparing proposals for prospective clients; closing sales; and organizing bookings.
• Generate trip documentation for confirmed itineraries, which includes final itineraries and pre-departure materials.
• Cultivate strong partnerships with suppliers, such as hotels, tour operators, airlines, and local guides, ensuring the best possible experience for our clients.
• Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the cultural, culinary, and adventure offerings in the designated destination.
• Stay informed about travel trends and developments within the travel industry.
• Manage client inquiries and bookings during the travel planning process.
• Deliver outstanding customer service and support to clients before, during, and after their journeys.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members (from Operations and other departments) regarding booked clients to ensure a seamless experience throughout all interactions with Vaya.
• Conduct data entry for new leads and clients.
• Perform general administrative tasks related to bookings and existing clients.
• Undertake any additional responsibilities as required.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in selling high-end custom travel in one or more of the specified destinations, ideally with some time spent living in those locations.
• Ability to thrive in a remote work setting while being a collaborative team member among remote colleagues.
• Travel experience in our destinations (some experience required, though not necessarily in all) and some proficiency in Spanish.
• Exceptional verbal communication skills to engage with highly educated, curious, and discerning clients who demand a high standard of service.
• Excellent writing skills for effective email communication with clients and for drafting and finalizing client proposals and itineraries.
• Strong writing abilities are essential, with proficiency in grammatically correct English when corresponding with potential clients.
• Proven customer service experience is essential; this role requires outstanding customer service skills, including patience, enthusiasm, attention to detail, and efficient follow-up.
• Proficient computer skills are necessary, including comprehensive knowledge of Word and Excel.
• Must possess strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage a diverse range of responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments with minimal supervision.
• A B.A. or B.S. degree from an accredited university is required.
• Strong references that can verify experience with challenging, detail-oriented tasks.
• A passion for travel and the destinations we represent.
• Fluency in English (knowledge of additional languages is an advantage).
• Willingness to frequently travel to destination areas.
