This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Interact with our utility clients to comprehend their business requirements and determine how our solutions can align with, fulfill, and surpass those needs.
• Collaborate closely with a proficient team of Technical Leads and Solution Specialists to contribute insights on solution architecture and integration necessities based on client expectations and solution functionalities.
• Establish success criteria and create solution integration and/or architecture diagrams relevant to the project.
• Conduct peer reviews of application designs and partner with application teams to guarantee that project requirements are fulfilled, offering technical guidance and direction throughout all phases.
• Engage in the deployment of GE GridOS DERMS solutions within client environments to support project use cases and DER planning scenarios.
• Prepare input data including network model files, load and generation forecasts, future planning scenarios, and generation cost information.
• Develop, modify, and configure client and testing input data for solutions by creating scripts and automating data processing systems.
• Convert and validate client CIM distribution network models using specialized tools and scripts, ensuring the accuracy of power flow results.
• Spearhead the design and development of custom adapters, connectors, APIs, or microservices to seamlessly integrate the GE GridOS DERMS solution into the client environment.
• Collaborate with our Service Engineering development lead throughout the development cycle to ensure that all custom deliverables meet specified requirements, standards, and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Address all client inquiries, bugs, and product suggestions for ongoing projects and log tickets for the Product team.
• Direct the simulation of project scenarios using various combinations of solutions, configurations, and input data.
• Execute use case and client-specific testing runs, leading factory and site acceptance testing.
• Troubleshoot software issues, documenting problems for the testing teams.
• Analyze and evaluate data and outcomes from project activities and tasks.
• Define the user acceptance testing process and create test cases while communicating progress metrics.
• Utilize internal software demonstrations to develop user acceptance documentation and training materials.
• Educate utility clients and end users on utilizing GE GridOS DERMS to meet their business objectives.
• Identify project delivery risks and propose potential mitigation strategies in collaboration with the Project Manager. Support sales activities as needed by providing technical demonstrations and identifying prospective upsell opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Engage in pre-sales activities, including leading the creation of Statements of Work (SOWs) and outlining assumptions.
• Over 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance testing with a comprehensive understanding of testing tools.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, with a focus on power systems or equivalent experience.
• Experience in testing Cloud/Web-based and/or client or server solutions applications and systems.
• Proficient in test automation with direct hands-on experience using automated testing tools.
• Familiarity with performance testing methodologies.
• Outstanding customer engagement, presentation, crisis management, and overall communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members to develop and enhance deliverables.
• Commitment to continuously improving team processes to ensure the highest quality of information.
• Experience in developing application and data solutions focused on customer needs based on market insights.
• Proficient in developing estimates, Statements of Work (SOWs), and proposals that outline professional services necessary to meet client requirements from a QA testing perspective.
• Strong test design and documentation capabilities.
• Capability to exercise independent judgment, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
• Knowledge of emerging trends in the energy industry and their implications for utility clients regarding DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management, complemented by a strong analytical background.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in enterprise software full stack development, including backend development and scripting with Java, Python, and database connector expertise.
• Eligibility for a bonus of 10% AIP.
